Amber Wonder, MC, LPC, NCC

Clinical Therapist

She / Her / Hers

Amber is a Licensed Professional Counselor, focused on helping others build resiliency, mental agility, and greater assurance in their ability to live a value-driven life. Amber uses a holistic approach to her therapeutic intervention and is a trauma-informed and sex-positive counselor. She believes strongly that people have everything they need to create change in their lives, if they are given an emotionally safe place to explore and time and support to develop actionable next steps.

Amber earned her graduate degree in Counseling from Arizona State University, and her bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Northern Arizona University. She is also a registered Clinical Supervisor and a National Certified Counselor (NCC) through the National Board of Certified Counselors. She has completed specialized training in numerous areas, including certification in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for trauma processing, and the Gottman Method for relationship therapies. Amber uses EMDR in working with clients to expand healthy coping skills, gain personal insight, and releasing negative thinking. Additionally, she utilizes the Gottman Method, an approach to relationship therapy that focuses on addressing conflict effectively, increasing client’s intimacy and communication skills, and building upon the shared meaning in relationships.

Amber is originally from California and has lived in over 10 different cities in various states across the country, including Florida, New Mexico, Kentucky and New York, and now happily resides in Arizona. When not practicing therapy, Amber loves to read, spend time outdoors, and enjoy quality time with her significant other and two dogs. Amber believes that new experiences are the spice that makes life interesting, whether trying new restaurants, searching out new music and art, or spending time immersed in other countries and cultures.
