Liz Polen, MS, LPC
Clinical Therapist
She / Her / Hers
Liz is a Licensed Associate Counselor who has a deep love for people and desire for people to know and embody their worth. She approaches therapy from a belief that healing begins with the therapeutic relationship itself and aims to collaborate with her clients to discover levels of safety and wholeness. Liz is EMDR certified through EMDRIA. Liz has done training in Solution Focused therapy and is influenced by Internal Family Systems and DBT. She completed Level 1 training in the Neuro-Affective Relational Model (NARM).
Before starting on her journey of counseling, she worked as a professional actor and a teaching artist. This informs her practice and her belief that healing is a whole body, as well as a creative endeavor. Liz has a high regard for healing found in spirituality and will incorporate spiritual practice into therapy as directed by the client. She has a heart for those who have suffered spiritual or church abuse.
Liz holds a Masters of Arts in Counseling from Ottawa University and a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in Theatre Arts and Biblical Studies from Gordon College. She recently completed a Masters in Missional Theology through Missional Training Center (Phoenix, AZ) accredited by Covenant Seminary in St Louis.
When not counseling Liz can be found dancing flamenco, going on road trips, hiking or performing with Playback Arizona.
