Questions about Therapy
Each therapist’s page on this website lists which insurances they are currently able to take. Due to insurance regulations, not all therapists can take the same insurance plans and not all insurance plans cover the same services. So, we request & recommend that you contact your insurance provider to double-check on your coverage, deductibles, and copay. If you need any info about our practice to provide to your insurance provider, please reach out via the Contact Us form. We do not utilize insurance for any Couples Therapy.
We do not provide superbills; however, we can provide an invoice of your paid sessions upon your request.
The initial intake assessment is a 90 minute appointment for all types of therapy - $200
Individual therapy sessions at the standard 50-55 minute timeframe - $150
Couples therapy sessions at the standard 50-55 minute timeframe - $175
Family therapy sessions at the standard 50-55 minute timeframe - $175
We offer a Sliding Scale Program for discounted session rates, to help make therapy more accessible after your first intake. All intakes are the same beginning fee, but subsequent ongoing sessions may be discounted. The Sliding Scale Program is based on household size and annual income.
There is an application form and financial documents needed to submit to your therapist for eligibility. Please reach out via our Contact Us form to learn more. Each of our therapists also reserve a few spaces on their caseload for Open Path clients who have registered through the Open Path Psychotherapy Collective https://openpathcollective.org. This is for clients
who may need a slightly deeper discount than what we are normally able to provide. The therapist will appear on the Open Path site as open if they are actively taking new clients at these rates.
Under federal law, clients who do not use insurance or who choose not to use their insurance have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of the expected cost of services. We do provide a GFE our private pay clients, however, therapy is an open-ended process, and the length and course of treatment cannot be predicted or guaranteed. This estimate is based on information known at the time it is provided and reflects anticipated fees for services, but it does not guarantee final charges, which may change depending on the frequency and duration of therapy.
For more information on your rights under the No Surprises Act and how to request a Good Faith Estimate, visit, https://www.cms.gov.
All Couples Therapy at Four Corners Counseling and Wellness is private pay. When Couples Therapy is private pay, we can treat your relationship itself as the client and create a neutral and balanced therapeutic environment, for a more diverse range of relationship types. We believe that relationship distress & repair is a shared dynamic, not a pathology or problem of one individual. When using Insurance, it’s required that one partner identifies as having a mental health disorder to justify “medical necessity” in order for us to provide Couples Therapy. And even then, not all major insurances pay for Couples Therapy as a covered service.
By providing Couples Therapy through private pay we can be more flexible and customize your treatment to fit your relationship’s needs with no limits to the frequency, length, or total number of sessions due to insurance limitations.
